In her book, Vegan Bowls, Zsu Dever teaches you how to create easy, delicious meals anytime of the day. When we were in Austin last April for Vida Vegan Con III, the theme for one of the meals they served was, “Vegan Love Bowls.” Until that moment, I hadn’t ever thought about that. When I did, I realized how true that was. In my pregan days, having a “bowl” for a meal was not something I would have ever considered. Now, as a vegan, I love bowls! Whether  something simple like our AGAGAAB or something more exotic like a hearty chili, bowls are wonderful meals.  For those who don’t know what a “bowl” is when talking about a meal, simply put, it is a meal served in a bowl. Soup is in fact a “bowl”. Vegetables over rice in a bowl is a “bowl.” The bowls in Vegan Bowls are not only delicious and creative, they can be ready in 30 minutes or less! Zsu delves into the world of this culinary style of eating and creates bowls for breakfasts, lunches and dinners. In addition to her recipes for delicious, easy to create bowls, Zsu also includes a guide for making your own unique bowls.

This recipe for a Green and White Chili Bowl shows just how easy making bowls can be.
