These BBQ Chick’n Pinwheels were inspired by Buzzfeed Tasty’s BBQ Chicken Pinwheels. I veganized the recipe and made a a few changes to create this quick and easy hors d’oeuvre or snack. These are like mini BBQ Chicken Pizzas, but in bite sized form. Make a batch for your next Netflix and Chill night. For the chick’n use your favorite vegan chick’n product such as chicken style seitan, Beyond Chicken Strips, rehydrated soy curls tossed with a little poultry seasoning, lightlife smart strips or Gardein. Using refrigerated pizza crust and store bought barbecue sauce help these come together in a flash. You can also prepare these ahead of time: simply roll them up and then keep in them in the refrigerator until you are ready to slice and bake.
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 15 minutes
Yield: 14 rollups


1 refrigerated pizza crust
1/2 cup BBQ sauce
1 1/2 cups vegan chick’n, diced
1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped
1/4 cup shredded vegan cheddar cheese
1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped


1. Preheat oven to 425°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment and set aside.

2. Roll out the pizza crust into a rectangle. Spread on the BBQ sauce. Top with chick’n, onion, cheese, and parsley. Roll it up longways, and cut into slices.

3. Please slices on a baking sheet, face up. Bake for 15 minutes.
