For Vegan MoFo 2014 we decided to add a series of videos of kitchen tips/techniques to help you out. Some of them you may know, some you may not.  Either way, we hope you enjoy them. Here is a quick video showing you how to peel beets without staining you hands or clothing.

Peeling beets can be messy, but with our method, there is no mess. And just in case you want to read it, here are the steps:

1. Remove the stems of leaves from the beets. DO NOT throw them away. They are packed with nutrients and are great sauteed or juiced.

2. Bring a pot of water to a boil. Make sure there is enough water to fully cover the beets. While waiting for the water to come to a boil, throughly wash the beets to get rid of all the dirt.

3.  Add the beets to the boiling water and cook for 30 minutes or until easily pierced with a fork or paring knife.

4.  Drain the beets and under cold running water, use your hands to easily peel your beets.

5.  Your beets are now ready for using and your hands are all clean.
