In her book, The Abundance Diet, Somer McCowan shares her story of reversing sever ulcerative colitis by adopting a plant based diet. She quickly dispels the notion that “diet” means depriving oneself of something. Instead, she used the word to simply mean, “the kinds of food that a person habitually eats.” The Abundance Diet is a 28-day plan designed by Somer based off a weeklong healthful-eating challenge she created on her blog VedgedOut.com. The Abundance Diet does not require counting calories, weighing food, adding points, or any of the other things that are typically associated with dieting. In fact, in The Abundance Diet, you will eat often and in portions that will allow you to feel full. Recipes in The Abundance Diet include things like Bananas Foster Pancakes, Tomato Basil Bisque and even Chocolate-Orange Silk Mousse.

This recipe for Moroccan Lentil Soup shows just why this is called The Abundance Diet.
