Cheesecake is one of the most iconic New York City desserts. When coming up with recipes for NYC Vegan, we knew we had to have a New York style cheesecake.

If you know someone who likes chocolate, make that person our Hot Chocolate TiraMOSu. It’s like tiramisu, only using hot chocolate in place of coffee. Our friend Charlie gets the credit for naming this. We were just going to call it Hot Chocolate Tiramisu. We like his name better.

Ladyfingers are not only delightful cookies that can be enjoyed with a cup of coffee, tea or hot chocolate, but they are also the base for the wonderful dessert that is Tiramisu. Unfortunately, finding vegan ladyfingers in a grocery store is next to impossible, so the only option if you want them is to make them yourself

Cheesecake Bars

Even though I don’t drink coffee, I love a good coffee cake. Our Cinnamon Streusel Cake gets a hand from boxed cake mix and instant pudding mix.

This recipe is a must-have for any Thanksgiving dessert table.  My mother used to make this cake when I was a child. This recipe is actually her mother’s (Bubby of Apple Crisp fame) recipe, but she doesn’t make it anymore.  I have enjoyed this recipe all of my life but it wasn’t until I went vegan that it occurred to me that this was an already-vegan recipe. My mother makes the cake in a round tube pan and covers it with a sweet frosting.  To this day, that  is seriously still my favorite way to have this cake.  However, Michael was not a fan of the icing on it, and we really didn’t need the extra fat and sugar.  In fact, the first time I made this for Michael, he said that his Aunt Carol made almost the exact same cake, but without the icing and it was a staple
